Alumni singing Bright College Years at a reunion event

Reunion Gift Committees

Why Reunions?

Reunions at Yale have historically been a time to come back—and to give back. Yale’s fundraising volunteers play a critical role in helping alumni connect with their classmates, engage with the university, and understand Yale’s strategic planning and goals. Informing alumni about the impact of their gifts and how they can match their giving interests with the university’s initiatives (such as student and faculty support, unrestricted use, and others) is especially important in the current economic environment where market forces have put pressure on the university’s operating budget.

Y Volunteer?

As a reunion volunteer, you will play an invaluable role in helping your class celebrate their connections to each other and to this remarkable place. By fostering excitement among your classmates about contributing to the class’s reunion gift, you add an element of personal warmth and individuality to the reunion gift process. Peer solicitations are particularly valuable to the success of reunion giving. Each time you write a letter or speak with a classmate, you underscore the personal nature of giving.

We hope your volunteer service will enable you to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones throughout the reunion year, as well as on campus in the spring!
