How does the brain change as it develops? How does it generate behavior or compute cognition? Researchers from across Yale will come together at the Wu Tsai Institute to answer these and other big questions about the human brain and how it works to create thoughts, ideas, emotions, and more. The institute was made possible by a transformative gift from Joseph C. Tsai ’86, ’90 JD and Clara Wu Tsai.

As a hub for interdisciplinary work in neuroscience, the new institute will bridge the psychological, biological, and computational sciences, tapping into Yale expertise to yield new insights into our most complex and most mysterious organ. In addition to offering new laboratory space and equipment for researchers, the formation of the institute also allows for the recruitment of new faculty members, students, and postdoctoral fellows.
