Three Yale Students Selected as Wyss Scholars for 2023

Students from the School of the Environment and the Law School are honored by the Wyss Foundation for their work in land conservation

Three Yale students from the School of the Environment and the Law School have been selected as Wyss Scholars for 2023. With this honor, they will receive support for tuition, internships, and post-graduate work. The Wyss Foundation is a charitable organization that supports land conservation in the US and internationally.

  • Jake Barker ’24 MF focuses his work on the intersection of forest restoration, climate resilience, and cultural values in Western communities.
  • Zane Weinberger ’24 MF has been a firefighter for several federal agencies and is an apprentice forester concerned with the land conservation.
  • Sarah Baer ’24 JD is dedicated to tackling the systemic challenges that face both humanity and the planet.
