Across Yale, faculty and researchers are working hard on scalable solutions to planetary challenges. The new Planetary Solutions Impact Accelerator fund will help them commercialize technologies, with an initial focus on those that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the root cause of climate change. Selected faculty-led projects will receive milestone-based funding, expert mentorship, and access to a global network of investors and partners. The Impact Accelerator joins a growing portfolio of Yale Ventures funds.
The accelerator is made possible by a generous gift from Eleanor Laurans ’00 and Chad Laurans ’00, co-founders of the home security company SimpliSafe, with additional support from Beth Birnbaum ’94 and Barney Harford.
