For students who want to make a difference through careers in public service, summer internships can be invaluable ways of networking and making connections. But often such internships are unpaid or have very little pay, which can preclude some students from being able to take advantage of the opportunities they present.
For the second year, the Millstone Fellowship at Yale’s Institute for Social and Policy Studies has provided a group of students with funding for housing, transportation, and other expenses during summer internships. The fellowship was launched with a gift from Jennifer Millstone ’00 and David Millstone ’99.
“I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity this fellowship grants me,” says William Hin PC ’25, who will intern at the Orange County Office of the Public Defender this summer. He is one of fourteen fellows, twice the number as last year.
