Kia Nobre ’93 PhD

Kia Nobre, a preeminent cognitive neuroscientist previously at Oxford, joined Yale University in July 2023 as the Wu Tsai Professor of Psychology and the director of the Center for Neurocognition and Behavior at the Wu Tsai Institute.

Nobre has made foundational discoveries about human perception, attention, and memory. She brings to Yale invaluable scientific expertise, visionary leadership, and dedication to mentoring, collaboration, and societal impact.

Nobre's work combines behavioral methods (psychophysics, eye tracking, virtual reality) with state-of-the-art neuroscientific techniques (scalp and intracranial electroencephalography, magnetoencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging, brain stimulation), resulting in innovative experiments and analyses.
