Dr. Bhattacharjee, Professor of Computer Science, builds microprocessors and their low-level control software for computer systems of all scales, from those powering data centers to those in medical implants.

Bhattacharjee’s research has influenced the design of billions of shipped microprocessors and operating systems in wide use today. In recognition of this impact, Abhishek received the 2023 ACM SIGARCH Maurice Wilkes Award, the highest mid-career award bestowed on computer scientists and engineers working in the field of computer architecture. He also received Yale's Engineering's highest prize for teaching and mentoring, the Ackermann Award, in 2022.

Bhattacharjee earned his PhD from Princeton University, where he was awarded the Gordon Wu Prize, and his BEng from McGill University, where he received the British Association Medal for Great Distinction.
