Driven by the enthusiasm of our volunteers, For Humanity advanced the university’s top priorities across the arts and humanities, science, collaborative discovery, and financial aid. It also engaged a broad base of donors supporting Yale’s mission to better serve society. Highlights from Be the Key

Student support is a perennial need at Yale, one that varies by school. Be the Key was a substantial step toward meeting that need, creating a Yale where fewer students require loans, doors are open wider to full participation, debts are more manageable, and more of the world’s most talented people can accept an offer from their first-choice school, here in New Haven.


•    Yale College can now offer free tuition to families with incomes below $200,000; it covers all costs of attendance for families below $100,000.

•    David Geffen School of Drama is now tuition-free.

•    Yale Divinity School offers full tuition to students with demonstrated need.

•    Medical students with demonstrated need are not expected to take out more than $10,000 in loans per year.

Yale’s alumni, parents, and friends contributed $748.9 million in new gifts and pledges in the fourth and penultimate year of the For Humanity campaign, bringing the campaign total to more than $6.4 billion. Giving to Yale advanced discovery, sustained our planet, and unlocked opportunities for students who will create a better future.

2023–2024 Campaign Report

In the third year of the For Humanity campaign, Yale’s alumni, parents, and friends contributed $746.3 million in new gifts and pledges, including more than $138 million for financial aid across the university. A network of more than 3,500 fundraising volunteers helped make it all possible. This generosity supports Yale’s mission of research, teaching, and learning that will make a positive difference in the world.
